Junior Blackburn Open

The National Capital Tennis Association will be holding the Junior Blackburn Open at the Blackburn Hamlet Tennis Club from May 25 to 27.

Progressive Tennis for Juniors

This year we are implementing "Progressive Tennis", a new program from Europe recommended by the International Tennis Federation as the most effective and enjoyable way to teach children ages 5 - 10 the sport of tennis! This program uses a systematic progression of court sizes, scaled down equipment, and decompressed balls to improve skillls faster; kids have longer rallies and more fun on the courts! They don't just come out for "tennis lessons", they "play tennis"!

At the end of October a small group of dedicated volunteers put away the nets and rolled up the windscreens for another year. It was a spectacular summer weather-wise, and everyone enjoyed playing on our four newly-resurfaced courts. Hope to see lots of familiar (and some new) faces at our 2012 registration April 28 and May 12.

End of Season

At the end of October a small but dedicated group put away the nets and rolled up the windscreens, signalling the end of a fabulous tennis season. The weather couldn't have been better, and everyone enjoyed playing on the four newly-resurfaced courts.

Hope to see both familiar and new faces at 2012 spring registration April 28 and May 12.
